Camping Hunting Fishing In The NorthState

I enjoy camping for my own reasons, and I am sure everybody has a reason that is different for them too. I like to forget about my daily life style when I am out camping. I dont do much hiking or physical activities as I like to just relax. I like to pan for gold, or catch fish as I usually do when I camp near a creek. That is my favorite place to camp. I like to camp in the trees, near a creek, along with bear, deer, raccoons, and the usual critters that roam around. Sometimes I like to rough it, and I am good at making things for camp. As I get older roughing it has different meanings.
There are other times I would like some conveniences such as a GPS device to know where to stake that gold claim if I so desire. Even camp chairs that I dont have to make. There are some things I would just rather buy so I can have more time to relax and do other things. Recently I used a cabover camper, got tired of the dirt, stiff back and all and have some comforts of home. The thing about camping is, you can make of it what you want, and do whatever, or buy whatever makes you feel like you could actually use to enjoy yourself.

Welcome and enjoy the campfire, the smores and just good company. Check out the deer pick I took. I know it's not the biggest buck you have ever seen, but hey, I can't complain, his name is Buck. Looks like Buck has a camp mate too. Hard to say what else lurks around the trees, Bigfoot? This is Bigfoot country you know. I have been in the woods a long time and have worked in the woods when I was younger for years and never saw Bigfoot. I can say I knew someone was watching me as I felt the hair on my back stand up. When you live and work in the woods, you develop a sixth sense. I kid you not! I used to run chain saws for a living and I knew when someone was watching me or wanting to talk to me. 90 some odd percent of the time I was right. The best way to learn how to get this sense is to be as silent as you can be, and listen with your ears and be as still and peacefull as can be. Now as you are being still watch as a deer gets close by. They will sometimes stop and their ears will come up. At this time is when you also try to feel and hear what the deer might sense. Learning how they react and sense things as well other animals helps out to improve your sixth sense. Now as you walk in the woods etc. take carefull steps, as you feel and hear your surroundings. Always keep your mind in the awareness stage from now on, and you will notice a difference in your outdoor experience. You will be able to sense if a person is of good nature or if they have skeletons in the closet. Same as how a dog reacts to good people or how they react when they know the person is crooked, theif etc. Ok enough of that, but I couldn't resist.
Here is another thought for you.... How about a camping trip on Lake Shasta. Yeah! Camp on the water in a houseboat. Camp in style, swim, fish and relax. Now you can make everybody in the family happy. No dirt to sleep on,
no critters to bother you, just a great family adventure. Check it out! The great thing is you can still camp on shore if you like or let your kids camp on shore while you and loved one sleep in the houseboat. Let the kids rough it, while you enjoy what you deserve !
